In Checkbox 4.1 you can have some users authenticate against active directory and other users authentication against the internal Checkbox user database. Users authenticated against active directory are considered network users and behave in the same manor as network users do currently.

When interactive login is enabled Checkbox first attempt to authenticate against its internal database before attempting to authenticate against active directory. As a result if you have identical users, same username and same password, in the internal database and your domain, users will be authenticated against the internal database.
