special characters in user names

Hi,

we are using Checkbox Survey Server v4.4.1.14.
When importing users via the import users function I have a problem when the username or other items of the import contain
special characters like the german umlauts ä,ö,ü or french letters like è.
After importing from a text file the characters in question appear like � in the application.
Is there a workaround or something so that such characters can be imported into the application by a text file?

In Checkbox 4.4.1.14 there was a bug which allowed binary files to be used when importing users. If an xls file was used during the import, behavior similar to what you described would occur. Are you certain that the file you imported was a text only csv file? If you are I would suggest opening a support ticket so that they can debug this issue further.
