Good morning John,

I was trying out the Style Template you posted above, and I have a question for you:

How were you able to "contain" the survey title, progress bar, questions, etc within the header?

I only ask because I get a strange result when I perform the following actions:
1. Import the above Simple Red Border style template into Checkbox (v4.4)
2. View the preview of the style (everything appears OK)
3. Edit the style, and go to the Header/Footer page
4. I don't make ANY changes to the header footer content, I don't change the view from HTML to Text editor, I don't even try to "View/Edit Source". All I do is click Submit at the bottom, as if I had made changes.
5. I view the preview of the style again, and this time, all the content of the survey (progress bar, questions, page number, etc) appear outside the "red border", below it on the page.

Why does the style change when I don't make any changes to it? I'm guessing that Checkbox is internally processing the header/footer when I click submit, and that process is different from importing a style via XML... Still, I didn't even know you could place the survey content within the header at all, I thought the entire header had to be placed above the survey content.

As a final note, I looked in the SQL table for the Style Templates, and indeed, Checkbox does make some modifications to the header entry when I click "Submit". However, there are a few special characters in the SQL field, so I can't view exactly what is changing, or what you did in the first place to accomplish this effect.

Hi Jeff,

The WYSIWYG HTML Editor will close tables automatically. Here is what you will want to do:

1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Preferences
3. Turn off the option for "Use HTML Editor"
4. Import the survey again
5. Now if you go to the Header/Footer section you can edit the HTML directly instead of using the WYSIWYG Editor

Please note, this will turn off the WYSIWYG Editor for all templates, so please be sure you want to do this.

This worked just as you said, and I now have some additional flexibility in the style layout, and have a better idea of how to use the header and footer to my advantage!
