The Survey Manager Screen
This is the central screen for all aspects of managing and creating surveys. Its web-based format allows for simple, shared access and deployment throughout your organization.
The Settings Administration Section
Available to users with system admin privileges only, this section is used to change the way that Checkbox behaves. Settings include configuration, appearance, user, and application preferences.

The Survey Editor
This screen is used to visually design your survey from start to finish. Pages are first added to the survey, then items and conditions (if applicable). There's even a "test" feature that lets you take a dry run of the survey before you send it out to the real respondents.
Completion Events
Completion Events allow you to specify what happens after a respondent completes the survey. Options include redirecting to a URL, sending an email, displaying a message, closing the browser, and restarting the survey. You can "pipe in" various attributes that you collected before or during the survey.
Survey Style Properties
Many options are available, including progress bar, button text customization, and more.
Permissions
You can set permissions and restrictions at the survey or user/group level.

The survey software setup process will automatically detect the path for installation, making the process very simple and easy to understand.

User Management
Checkbox includes a comprehensive User Management system for controlling access to both the administrative features and the surveys themselves. Custom user roles and user groups can be defined to achieve any level of security imaginable.
Import Users
CHECKBOX®'s import users feature allows you to import users from your existing user management system into the built-in user management database. Simply export your user list to a comma separated file and use the Import Users feature to map them into Checkbox survey. Need tighter integration? With the Checkbox Developer Kit you can make Checkbox read directly from your user management database with no import required.
WYSIWYG Style Sheet Editing and Easy to Use Templates
With Checkbox, you have extensive control over the look and feel of your surveys. Use HTML or our own editor to create reusable style templates which match the look and feel of your company's website or product. Styles can easily be applied to a survey and changed at any time. No CSS skills needed.

By using style templates, you can quickly change the look and feel of your survey without having knowledge of web programming. Style templates are saved in the system and can be used by one or more surveys at the same time.
Creating a header and footer for a Style Template
Each Style Template can have a custom header or footer, complete with an uploaded logo. In addition, Checkbox has a WYSIWYG HTML editor, allowing you to create a great looking header/footer without need to know HTML.
Powerful Branching and Condition Logic
Make intelligent surveys with Checkbox's powerful built-in branching and conditional logic system. Using branching and conditions, you can specify the action that occurs when a respondent answers a question. You can also use conditions to determine whether or not a respondent is able to view certain questions or sections.

Skip Logic / Page Branches
CHECKBOX®'s page/item branching functionality allow you to create rules that are executed based on the respondent's answers to one or more questions. Branches can be created to take the respondent to a specific page or to the end of the survey.
Condition Creation
Checkbox conditions are used to determine which questions/pages the respondent sees. They can be based on user attributes and/or the respondent's answer to one or more questions. Each condition is evaluated using the specified logical operator ("equal to", "greater than", etc) and if it is evaluated to be true, the condition executes.
Improved Reporting with Filtering and Data Export
Checkbox allows you to harvest real time results from your survey using the built in reports interface. You can quickly view summary info (using unlimited filters) or drill-down into a specific response to see more information. Powerful access control features let you share your data securely. In addition, Checkbox's data export allows you to use your data in third-party reporting applications, such as Crystal Reports and SPSS.

Reports with date filtering
CHECKBOX®'s reporting engine creates full color charts and graphs of your results. Featuring data filters, cross tabulation, and item filters, Checkbox can accomplish all of your reporting needs. However, if you do need to analyze the data another way, use the built-in data export (with SPSS support).
Data export
Checkbox includes a data export feature that allows you to take your response data offline for use in other data analysis packages. The product supports CSV and SPSS formats.
Question Libraries Make Repetitive Web Surveys a Snap
The more you use Checkbox, the smarter it gets. By using Question Libraries, you can store questions for reuse, allowing you to build your own repository of commonly used items. This streamlines the construction of future surveys; simply select items from the Question Library and build your new online survey with ease.

Library Manager
CHECKBOX®'s item Libraries allow you to create questions that can be reused in multiple surveys. The Library Manager is the central point for creating and managing libraries, including the items and permissions that make up each library.
Adding a survey item from a library
Once an Item Library has been created, it's very easy to add items to your survey. By simply pressing the "Add from Library" button, you can select an item from any existing library.
Advanced Features
Whether it's unlimited scale matrix questions, answer piping (into subsequent questions), randomization of answer order, or validation of text entry, Checkbox has an extensive feature set for creating even the most complex surveys.

Multiple-scale Matrix Question
Checkbox allows you to create Matrix Questions with unlimited scales (columns). This allows you to create questions that capture a lot of information in a compact amount of space. Column types include radio options, drop downs, check boxes, rating scales, sum totals, and open-ended.
Answer randomization
CHECKBOX® can randomize the answer list for any question -- or randomize the order of the questions themselves. This allows you remove order bias from your surveys -- and create a more unique experience for each respondent.
