Merge answers from previous questions, user attributes, survey data, and survey items into subsequent questions or email invitations. This allows for personalization, customized questions, and more.

Personalize your surveys

With Answer Merging, you can easily “merge” or “pipe” a respondent’s answer into subsequent questions to create a personalized experience. For example, if on page one you ask the respondent his or her name, then subsequent questions can use this data to address the respondent by name. This is also very useful for creating customized follow up questions.

Merge into any survey item

Checkbox’s Merging feature is available for use by pressing the “Merge” button on any question, description text, answer option, or display item. Essentially anywhere that you can enter text, you can use Merging.

Merge data from previous questions

Any prior question can be used with Answer Merging. This includes open ended questions, single select, and multi-select questions.

Merge response data

You can also merge in other response data, such as the current date, respondent’s IP address, response language, and start/end date of the response.
