Default Tracking status of surveys and packaging responses

    Hi

Is it possible through the API to capture the status of a survey?

I.E You have a survey with 10 Pages. As the user moves from page to page is it possible to track the status of it ?

Secondly, when the user has submitted his/her survey, is it possible for me through the API to captcher all the responses in the following format:

    Question
    Answer

    Question
    Answer

and then mail it back to them for "review" either by PDF, Word or excel?

    Thanks

    Moosa,

I'm not sure what you are asking in your first question, but I think the answer may be yes. Each time the user goes to a different page, the database is updated to store what page the user is on and what time the user went to the page.

It is possible to capture the data in this form, though you may wish to use a couple built-in features of the software. You can add an item to the completion page of the survey that either emails a copy of the questions and answers to specified recipients or provides the user with a link to view the answers online.

The "Email Response" survey item will email a copy of the response to the user and the "Response Summary" survey item can display the quesitons in answers in the survey or provide a link for the respondent to view the answers on a separate web page.

    Hey Noah,

My apologies, I did manage to find the answer to my question. I just wasnt looking properly at the survey items page. I've tested the feature and works perfectly for me.

My other questions though, is it possible for me to create/track the users response status. I.E. 20% complete, 90 %complete and 100% if submitted?

    Thanks

First, let me apologize for the late reply. We had a problem with the forum for over a month that prevented thread notifications from being mailed to our support staff and we just found about it this week.

There really isn't any built-in facility to track a users progress. There is a page log table in the database, but this is more of a stack of visited pages, so if a user moves back in the survey and pages are "popped", entries are deleted from this table. It may do what you need with a little DB effort though.
