Remove an item from a drop down list in an active survey.

What I would like to do is remove or disable one of the options in my drop down list - but not delete the data associated with that item. I just don't want it to be able to be selected anymore. It would seem that this is not possible - can someone confirm this or let me know how to accomplish this.

You are correct - you cannot do this w/o losing data. Instead, you could add HTML data such as strikethrough or white text, or even replace the content with dashes (and put the original question in the alias field). Unfortunately, you are depending on users not to select this option.
