using a item from the library

when two or more surveys use the same item picked from the library of items, and if that item is edited and changed in the library at some time after the creation of the surveys, is that change reflected automatically in the surveys that use the item ?

conversely, if the item picked from the library is edited from within the survey is the change reflected in the library ?

in other words is there some kind of OO behaviour with the items in the library or is the item simply copied without link when included in a survey ?

When you add an item from the library a copy of the item is made. Any changes made to the library will not impact the questions you have already added to surveys. Similarly any changes made to an item once it has been copied to a survey will not impact the library or other copies of the item.
