Default Surveys not expiring (IE7 related bug?)

We have some surveys that were set to expire at the end of 2007, but mysteriously we discovered that although an IE6 user will get the correct error about the survey no longer being active, IE7 users were able to display the survey.

Well, that was very strange. The start/stop dates were correct when I viewed the properties, and the survey I was testing showed "active" still, so I deactivated it and still, IE6 users got the right message, but my IE7 window displayed it.

I don't think my machine had the survey cached, and it actually came to my attention from our survey writer (I just admin the server it runs on), and he had the same symptoms.

Any clues why it might do that? I'm going to try resetting IIS on the server in case it had something cached server side that was doing anything.

If I understand things correctly the survey creator is still able to access the survey while other users are not able to. Is that correct? If this is the case I believe you are experiencing permissions issue and that the browser versions are a red herring. If the survey creator is logged into the system his/her permissions will supersede the survey restrictions, be they start/stop date, response count, etc.

If it is a public survey please have the survey creator log out and attempt to take the survey. If it is not a public please have a user with only the respondent role attempt to take the survey.
