page navigation
We have a survey with a lot of pages and would like to be able to create a link to a specific page, for example using a querystring parameter or form post field to pass the target page number. Is this possible? If so what is the name of the parameter we need to pass?

There is not a query string parameter that will automatically move a respondent to a specified page. That being said you should be able to reproduce similar functionality by combining hidden items and conditional or branching logic.
For further information on conditional and branching logic please see our documentation (Prezza Technologies | Documentation and Manuals) and training video pages (Prezza Technologies | CHECKBOX Training Videos).

Thanks for your response, but unfortunatly we can't use hidden fields to accomplish this because we allow the users to edit their responses. The hidden fields can only be passed for the initial response, so your suggestion would only work when taking the survey for the first time.
Our surveys are very long, and a user may want to update a particular section of their response so we want to be able to provide them with a "table of contents" type interface that will allow them to click on a section and go to that particular page of the survey.
When a user resumes a survey it takes them to the page where they left off, would there not be some sort of parameter that makes that happen? maybe we can piggy back off of it?Last edited by sp11180; 07-30-2008 at 08:40 AM.

There is no way to access the logic used to facilitate the resume feature. If you are unable to use hidden items the only other suggestion we have is to create a table of contents using a select one question. The answer to this question could be used as the source for branching logic. In our next release of Checkbox, version 4.5, we have added the ability to base conditional logic on Response Properties. You could use these new properties to conditionally hide/show the question depending on whether or not the survey is complete.
We ran into an unexpected delay in the release of Checkbox 4.5 but we intend to have it completed shortly. Baring any additional unforeseen events we intend to release 4.5 within the next week.
