Matrix question heading/subheading location
Good day,
I am working on formatting a Matrix item, and have a question about the Question Text and Header location. Specifically, in a Matrix, the column headers take up a whole row for themselves, and there seems to be no way to add text to the left-most cell of the "column header" row.
That explanation may not be entirely clear, so I've attached a picture to better show things. In the picture, I am trying to have the text "Sales & Service" appear in the same horizontal row as "Poor Fair Good Excellent". The top "Sales & Service" text is the actual Question Text, and the bottom "Sales & Service" text is a header row in the Matrix question.

It seems like there should be a work-around for this reason: In the "Add/Edit Rows" screen, you can label a row as a "header". However, when I looked at the page source of the final survey, these rows are actually indicated as class="subheader". The class="header" section does seem to exist, in the top-left cell of the Matrix (just where I want to place my text), but it is left empty.
Summary: Is there a way to place "header" text in the top-left cell of a Matrix question?
Thanks,
-Jeff

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to place text in the header of the row column of a Matrix. The development team has an existing tracker item which covers this functionality. I will update the tracker item and note that you have expressed interest in this feature.
