Add up responses

Is there any way for checkbox to add responses together and then display, at the end of the survey, the responses so far? My idea is to have a question like "how many hours a day do you spend walking?"

Then, at the end of the survey, the respondent would see the total number of hours spent walking by everyone who has taken the survey so far. Is there any way (hidden item maybe?) to add piped items together and create a total that can be piped to a message?

Although it is possible to add report items to a survey there are currently no report items that will sum the responses to a given response.

I have created a developer tracker item for your feature request.

I am not certain, but based on your name I believe your university owns the developer kit. If this is the case it would be possible for your to create a custom report item. The dev kit include a document named CustomReportItemsGuide.pdf which outlines the process.
