Multilanguage - Completion Events and Customizable Text
We have successfully installed the Multilanguage function for Checkbox, but there are 2 areas where I can't seem to be able to provide a French version for:
- - Completion Events ("Thank you for taking this survey")
- - Customizable Text (Next, Previous, Finish, etc.)
When users fill out the survey in French, the "Next", "Previous" and "Finish" buttons are empty, and the last page "Thank you for taking this survey" is blank.
How do I fix this? I would rather have the default English version displayed, because at least I could make the message bilingual... but as it is, I can't control that and users think that there is something wrong with the survey because when they click the button, nothing happens (blank page).
Thanks!

By default the completion events page contains a message item. Message items are multi-language aware. You should be able to translate this question like any other question. If you open the survey in the survey editor and switch to French are you able to edit the message on the completion events page?
The survey navigation buttons can be translated on the survey's style page.Last edited by pwiesner; 12-02-2009 at 02:25 PM.

Hi Evem
We have extensively used multilanguage surveys at our firm and even translated the interface. The administrator is absolutely correct. I just wanted to add - once you have switched to French, then click "Edit" on any of your questions - if you see [fr-ca] or [en-us] (language code) prefixed before your text then French respondents will not see that text and it will appear blank as you have already indicated. Translate and then copy and paste into the French questions to fix - making sure the language code is removed. You will also find it very helpful to click on the Languages menu > export the languages > open in Excel > provide all the translation there > save back to XML and then re-import back to Checkbox. This can save you a lot of time for longer bilingual surveys.
