branding and heavy customization
Hi,
I would be interested in purchasing a license but I posted few questions in the forums and haven't heard back, which makes me believe that what I am trying to do can not be done. Perhaps I posted in the wrong forum, so here it is again:
I am wondering how easy it is to change certain copy and images of the administrative system for Checkbox Survey Server.
Ex. instead of "Survey Manager", I wanted "Poll Manager".
What about changing style sheets and template structure (instead of horizontal nav I wanted to use vertical nav?)
Is there a captcha utility?
What if I require users to register and I have multiple surveys. Can I ensure that survey #1 can be completed only once, survey #2 can be completed max 5 times, and survey #3 unlimited but only once a day or max 3 times a week?
And last but not least, can the Survey Server be completly branded my own where no where it would show Prezza copy/logo/branding, not even if error is generated? This question goes for the admin and actual survey displayed to users?
Thanks,
Susan

Susan,
I apologize for the late reply, and maybe you've already gotten answers to your questions, but to answer your questions...
1. Icons can be changed easily. It's simply a matter of replacing graphics files used by Checkbox with your own files.
2. Making the menu vertical would only be possible with the developer's kit and would require programming knowledge.
3. The software supports a Captcha item that does not let a respondent proceed with a survey unless the code is entered correctly.
4. Response limit can be configured on a per survey basis, though there is no per-day/month/etc. limit. Limits can be placed on total number of responses to the survey for all respondents, limits for number of responses per individual respondent or both.
5. Yes, this is easily accomplished using survey Style Templates.

2 follow up questions
Thank you for responding.
A couple follow up questions:
1. Can you comment on how the developer's kit works? Are we using Visual Studio to make changes? Do we have most source code?
2. With developer's kit, can we modify your system to be able to have more flexibility as to how many times a survey can be entered? Again, i am thinking that one survey would be once per day, another twice per day but max 10 per week, another 10 per month, etc.
If not, can you include that as part of your development process? Perhaps you can modify this for us?
Thanks,
Susan

Susan,
The developer kit includes support and access to the Checkbox APIs, including web services. Source code is available but isn't included as part of the developer kit.
Survey authorization is performed by an Authorization Provider, which is just a .NET component that implements a specific interface. With the developer kit, you could create your own survey authorization provider then plug it in to the application by modifying a configuration file which tells Checkbox which authorization provider to use for surveys.
Another option would be to for us to create this customization for you, though this is something you would have to work out with our sales department.
