Matrix Item: space between item columns

Anyone know how to separate two item columns in a matrix item?

Want to make it look like the two column items are very clearly distinct, and not one row of buttons.

When creating the matrix did you enable "Grid Lines"? "Grid Lines" are an option in the Appearance section of the matrix item editor and they control whether or not a line is drawn in between individual cells of the matrix.

If the grid lines are not distinct enough you might be able to create your question using a Page Layout Template. To access Page Layout Templates open your survey in the survey editor and navigate to the Styles tab. On the Styles screen select the "Edit Page Layout" link. I would suggest trying the AutoColumns template.

Thank you! I'll try those. I'd created the matrix item then looked for a way of making changes.
