Lost data in exporting to CSV
When I export my survey results to a CSV file, a huge portion of the written comments got cut off from the CSV file. Why is that? I don't believe the comments have yet reached the character limits... or have they?
...Actually I know the comments did not reach character limitations yet because some responses contain much more extensive comments than the one(s) that got cut off.
...Okay, I see that the comment that got cut off starts with the "-" character. When I deleted that character and re-export the data, everything is fine.
When working with a large data file with extensive text comments, it will be difficult to detect a problem such as this one, unless I actively look for cut off text by screening the comments but that will be extremely time consuming. Any tips on how best to deal with this problem?Last edited by challie; 08-04-2009 at 02:49 PM.

Can you tell me what the exact version number you are running is? It should show in the bottom left corner.

Changes were made to the export process in recent versions, and I believe this is fixed. Please upgrade to version 4.6 at your convenience. This is done by having whoever at your organization is registered to download software from us go to Checkbox - Login To Customer Area.
Thank you.John Fischer
