A Cookie are parcels of text sent by a server to a web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server. Checkbox supports both cookie based and cookie-less authentication. In addition, the name of the cookie can be changed to allow for multiple installations on the same hardware.
