Children’s Hospital Boston is one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States and home to the world’s largest research enterprise based at a pediatric medical center. About two years ago, Children’s Clinical Research Information Technology group (CRIT), who provides technology support and services to hospital researchers, began to see an influx of requests for IT services and survey based research. The CRIT began their search to find a vendor who could provide them a turnkey survey software solution that was compatible with their existing Microsoft infrastructure, complied with stringent hospital security regulations, and could be deployed quickly on an enterprise-wide level.
Checkbox Survey Server enticed Children’s Hospital with advanced features that were not offered by other third party solutions. Checkbox, powered by Microsoft .NET, provided the scalability to offer an unlimited number of surveys and responses across the organization, offered measures to ensure data security, and had a user-friendly, 100% web-based interface. Children’s was able to roll out Checkbox within a tight time frame and budget and was able to implement the majority of their surveys ‘out of the box’.
The CRIT team at Children’s Hospital Boston, now in its third year of operating Checkbox Survey, has created a new service dedicated to survey creation, deployment, and analysis that further constitutes their ability to produce world class research.
“Checkbox is a critical component to our survey research services. The product allows our team to rapidly create, deploy, and administer interactive Web surveys to a wide variety of clinical studies all the while saving time and money in IT resources”. Jason Rightmyer, Children’s Hospital Boston
