Data security is one of our customers' top concerns and one of our top
priorities. That's why Checkbox Survey has a network of security and
permissions options that can be configured at the application and survey
levels.
At the survey level, Checkbox Survey allows you to configure an array of
security options for each survey, including respondent permissions
(public, password protected, registered users, or access control list),
behavior of the browser back and forward buttons, survey start and end
date, and the maximum number of times the survey can be taken.
At the application level, Checkbox allows you to set permissions
independently for many features of the product, including survey
manager, folders, reports, libraries, and invitations. To
facilitate the configuration of security, Checkbox Survey comes
preconfigured with security settings for a number of common user roles
(e.g. survey administrator and report administrator). And with Active
Directory/LDAP support, integrating with existing security
infrastructure is painless.
Checkbox Survey also has support for SSL* at both the application and
survey levels. This allows data to be encrypted from the browser
back to the server using internet standard third party certificates.
Key Checkbox Security Features:
Multiuser Role Based Environment
With Checkbox Survey's User Management functionality, role based
permissions can be used to give administrative users access to only what
they need. For example, each Survey Administrator can edit their
own surveys and grant other users permissions to them if they choose,
while System Administrators can edit any survey.
Multiple Levels of Survey Security
Surveys can be created with a variety of access types, including public
(anonymous response), password protected, registered users only, or
custom access control list (only specified users and user groups).
Administrators can also disable the 'password reset' option for
additional security.
Active Directory Integration
Checkbox can integrate with Active Directory (NT Domain) via LDAP to
authenticate users for both the administrative functions as well as for
taking surveys.
Cookie or Cookieless Sessions
Checkbox supports both cookie based authentication and
cookie-less authentication. In addition, the name of the cookie
can be changed to allow for multiple installations on the same hardware.
SSL Support
All areas of Checkbox Survey support industry standard SSL encryption,
allowing for secure communications between the browser and web server.
Set Response Limits
Surveys can be configured to limit the total number of responses, the
number of responses per respondent, and the survey start and end dates.
