Checkbox Survey: User Management
Checkbox Survey's built-in User Management functionality provides an
easy to use structure that gives powerful control over user permissions,
roles, and groups.
Users can be entered manually, imported in bulk using the User Import Wizard, created through self-registration (if public registration is enabled), or created using Checkbox Survey’s built-in support for Active Directory. Customers who purchase the Checkbox Developer Tools can also use web services and API access to create and administer users.
Users can be organized into User Groups or can be assigned to
one or more roles, which determine the level of access granted.
Standard user roles include Survey Administrator, Respondent, Report
Administrator, and System Administrator.
Key User Management Features:
Built-in User Manager
Provides a web-based interface for administering users, user groups, and
email lists in Checkbox Survey.
Bulk User Import Wizard
Checkbox User Management allows for copy & paste or upload of a comma separated text file.
The User Import Wizard is capable of importing several thousand users at
a time.
Standard Registration Features
Checkbox allows self-registration, including a "Forgot Password"
feature, which emails the user a password reminder. User passwords are
encrypted in the database.
Integrate with Existing User Databases
Using Checkbox's provider-based user authentication and profile model,
it is possible to write a custom user profile provider to authenticate
and get profile information from different databases.
Customizable User Profiles
Checkbox Survey allows users to have an unlimited number of custom user
attributes, which can be created via the user settings screen.
Data Security
Checkbox user passwords and database connection information can both be encrypted, ensuring user and customer data security.
