The Rating Scale (AKA Likert Scale) question type is designed to capture respondents' opinions or preferences on a scale, such as 1 to 5 or 1 to 10. This is ideal for measuring satisfaction, agreement, or other graded feedback. You can customize the scale's range, labels, and appearance to align with your survey’s goals, making it a versatile choice for gathering structured, measurable insights. Checkbox allows you to use emojis and pictures in addition to the numeral scale to collect the ratings from the respondents.
The rating scale has an advantage in its ease of use and most people have encountered rating scales questions in the past in other surveys, it makes quantifying behaviours easier as it is a standardized assessment tool and finally, it's an easy method to set up. Some disadvantages include the fact the rating will depend on the subjective view of the evaluators, and it's often challenging to quantify rate certain concepts on a scale.
